Beate's Sketch #20

I had a little time to stamp today and saw a post for Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge. This is simple, but sweet. I used Bashful Blue, US White, & Old Olive CS and Cutie Pie DP. The flower stamp is from Looks like Spring and I punched it out with scallop punch. The center needed something so I put some Crystal Effects on and added Micro Beads on top. I now have those little beads all over my floor. : ) The leaves are from the 5 petal flower punch. That panel is on dimensionals and the rest is flat. The greeting is from So Many Sayings punched out with the Word Window Punch. Some blue gingham ribbon and it's done! What do you think?

I held out on getting this set from the Holiday Mini but it kept calling to me. : ) So I decided I had to have it! I like it's subtle Boho look and versatility. Plus, there are punches that work well with it. (love my punches!) Here's what I did: Markered the flower design with More Mustard, Really Rust, Choc. Chip and Old Olive 3 times. Well, not totally - just enough to get 2 layers on dimensionals of the flower minus the Choc. chip dots and the center circle that I punched with 1/4" circle punch. Stamped friend sentiment in Choc. Chip on Vanilla CS. Layered the photo corner punches in the top right , distressed the vanilla edges with cutter kit and layered it on Really Rust CS. Old Olive CS is also distressed and I sponged Twill Tape (why is it called tape?) with Really Rust and wrapped it around and through a piece of Hodge Podge Hardware and secured with the Aged Copper brads. All this layered on choc. Chip CS. Enjoy!

Well, Katie passed her stomach bug on to me yesterday. She and I are both feeling better now but waiting to see if the boys get it. She actually helped a little with this project. (Put that one there, Mommy) It's a little journal for my son. He loves animals and wants to be a zooologist. I got the Bind It All a little while back and just haven't had much time to play with it. I have great visions of what I'd like to do - hopefuly some Christmas presents. I'll share them later. This one uses the Wild About You and Monkey Business stamp sets and the Rough Texture Jumbo Wheel. Colors are More Mustard and Really Rust for the lion, Going Gray for the elephant, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel marker for the monkey, So Saffron and Creamy Caramel marker for the giraffe, Always Artichoke for the alligator and Not Quite Navy for the little bird. All of them are cut out and adhered to Old Olive CS wheeled in Always Artichoke. I finally got to use some of the ribbon I won from Melanie Welch to finish it off. If you come to the Stamp/Crop on the 29th I'll help you make one! (design of your choice of course)

So Much

The Phila. Regional was lots of fun yesterday, but now I'm back to reality with a sick little girl who had me up since 5am. So here's a quick update so I can get back to cuddling with her.
We got the set So Much. Not a set I was originally drawn to, but now I see a lot of possibilities with it. We made a couple cute cards and scrapbook pages with it. Here's one where we stamped the circle outlines and then pierced on the lines to make it look like faux stitching. The flower from the set is stamped and cut out then we put a jumbo brad in the middle - love those!
I got a bunch of swaps and took a bunch of pictures. I uploaded them to Snapfish, so if you want to see them send me your email and I'll send the slideshow your way.
Thanks to fellow Demo Tracey that braved the train with me! And I'll have to compare pics with Reenee, who finally made it to her first SU! event. Wasn't it fun?

Of course, I'll have extras on hand too.

Regionals Swap

OK - so it's been a while since I've posted. I've been totally swamped. Every time I planned something, something else came up. KWIM? Anyway, here is the swap design I came up with for the Phila. Stampin' Up! Regional that I'm going to on Friday. I'm so excited! All day dedicated to stamping - no interruptions! How great is that?

I used Season of Joy (lovin' that set) and So Swirly Wheel, all in Handsome Hunter on Kraft Cardstock. I layered the tree on Bravo Burgundy with dimensionals and added a bow in BB ribbon. What do you think? Let me know if you have any suggestions to improve it before I make 40 or so of these babies. : )
