Punch Storage

These Bygel bars at IKEA are awesome! I love that my punches (most of them anyway) are now in plain site and not taking up precious drawer space anymore. The hanging basket (which is holding smaller punches) is also a Bygel product at IKEA and each piece is only $1.99. So, if you're like me and have one of the world's smallest crafting spaces, you might want to give these a try. Hey, it almost makes me look a little organized, too, don't ya think?

Another Weekend Sketch Challenge from Beate. I needed a Bday card for my neice and she gave me my starting point with this sketch. I used the Fun & Fast Notes (gotta love that set!) and some DSP from last year. Colors are Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Tempt. Turquoise. I used American Crafts' glitter marker on the cake, candles and edge of the card. Like my ribbon? I couldn't find anything that really went with this in my stash, so I used my markers on white grosgrain ribbon! I really like the way it turned out. I'll have to do that more.

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing you all a Happy Heart Day!

This little guy is from the set Happy Heart Day. I cut him out of Close to Cocoa CS and his clothes in Regal Rose. The heart is cut from Rose Red Designer Prints Paper. I used the white gel pen on his collar and stripe as well as the heart on the flower. I added a little pink gem for the center. I popped them up on dimensionals from the 2 circles and scallop punch. The white and Rose layers are notched and the ribbon is Choc. Chip taffeta. The base is Regal rose - a color I don't use very often at all. Just not a big pink fan - but didn't think it would look as good in my favorite color, purple. : ) Hope my friend Nancy enjoys it - she truly does have a big heart!

I've been wanting to make a Valentine card using Priceless for a while. I really like the heart in that set. When I saw Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, I thought it would be a good match. So, here's my version in Rose Red, White, and Pretty in Pink. I also used the So Swirly Jumbo Wheel and paper piercer from the Tool Kit. I didn't have Rose Red ribbon so I dragged white through the ink with a sponge and you can't really see but the cut out heart has dazzling diamonds on it. That piece is popped up with dimensionals. It's one of those cards that really is prettier in real life. : )

40th Word Book

Today's my parents' 40th Wedding Anniversary. Yep - on Superbowl Sunday. Since my sister and I didn't think our usual "take them out to dinner" plan would fly, we did brunch instead. We even got to surprise them with some of their friends. I made this from Rachel Behan's tutorial on word books (Jan 20) and then added various photos from their life together. I used the Bind it All and various papers from Target, AC Moore and SU! plus some ribbon. It was actually pretty easy - just a little time consuming with the exacto knife to cut around the letters. Some company sells these, but only certain words, so here's a way to do whatever name or word you'd like.
