Another card with A Beautiful Thing stamp set. This time in Orchid Opulence and white. I wish I knew how to photograph these better so you can see what I did with my new toy - I mean tool - the Scor Pal. Yes, Mom came through and got me one. I can't wait to use it more, it's pretty cool. I used it to score my card in half and then to make quilt like grid marks on the top panel. I stamped off twice for the flower and cut it out so I could back it with the 1 1/4" circle and put a little Fire Circle Rhinestone brad in the center. Sentiment is from Sincere Salutations. Hope you like it.

Wow - Dec. 27th already. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! As we wind down the year, don't forget to get whatt you want off the retiring list and that you can get 10% off your SU! orders through me until the 31st!

I have the new catalogs!! "Santa" brought me 2 new stamp sets to play with too. This one is from A Beautiful Thing. It also shows you a designer paper from the Bali Breeze collection - they are beautiful! My picture is not very good - this is much "springier" in real life. I have to work on my photography. Anyway, colors are Groovy Guava and Certainly Celery. Flowers were inked in Only Orange and Groovy Guava twice and the centers were stamped in white on Groovy Guava and punched out with the 1/4" circle punch. Sentiment is in Temp. Turquoise stamped off once. The white rectangle is sponged in Guava and was made with the Marvy Scalloped Square punch. I punched out the square then put it back in less than half way and punched again. You can't really see it well, but I also paper pierced the top and bottom of design. Be back soon with more. : )

Congrats to...

First, don't miss out on anything SU! has retiring. Email me if you need the list. As my personal special during December, I'm offering 10% OFF your ENTIRE order, retiring or otherwise. So treat yourself or give a hint to that someone special and I'll help you out. Gift Certificates are available too - you know there's going to be lots of great new stuff in the upcoming catalog!

Second, my next Stamp Camp will be Friday, January 11th. Santa will be bringing me new sets! I've decided to do the double card thing again, so we'll be making 6 cards - 2 each of 3 different designs and a little 3D item for $12. RSVP with fee by 1/4/08!

Third, Did you see my counter? It passed the 5,000 mark so it's time for some Blog Candy! Just leave me a comment letting me know a fun tradition or activity you do during the holidays. Even a great gift idea would be good - I'm stuck for something else for my mom! I'll pick a random winner on the 20th and hopefully get it mailed out before we leave for NC. What is it, you ask? Well, I've got some goodies hanging around. I'll gather them up and try and post a pic by tomorrow.

Last, but certainly not least - a fabulous tip! You know how I love punches, well here's another way to use the Scallop Punch. This is from Dannie Graves, who discovered that you can get a starburst sort of effect by punching once in the Scallop punch, then attaching that to a piece of larger regular scrap paper (cardstock is too heavy) and then lining the punched scallops in the middle of the scallop punch and punching again. (Remove scrap) Here's a sample using an image from In the Spotlight punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch. Isn't that great?!

Revamped Ornament Cards

I had some more time to play and revamped that ornament card using Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, clear acetate, gold Encore Ink, and the 5 petal punch. You could even make these smaller so that they'd fit on your tree!

Ornament Card

As soon as I saw this idea I wanted to make an ornament card. Well, here we are about 2 weeks later, and I just made one. That happens to me a lot : ) This is pretty simple, but cute. I cut 2 Real Red circles out with my coluzzle (2nd to largest) and then punched a Handsome Hunter tab to connect them together. I used 2 gold brads on the front tab and outlined the whole thing in gold zig painty pen. In the middle is a strip of white with gold spots from Snowflake Spot and Sincere Salutations greeting in Handsome Hunter, layered on Handsome Hunter. I tied a piece of gold cord to go along with the ornament feel. Cute, huh? A lot of possibilities with this - I'm thinking Cuttlebug for my next one...

Behind the 8 Ball

Well, it's been a while, but I think I'm finally getting back in the swing of things. The day after we got home from VT (we went for Thanksgiving) both Katie and I got sick - I mean majorly sick. We both wound up on antibiotics and then my son had a virus so last week was pretty much a wash for me. Now that I have a few good night's sleep in me I'm ready to make up for lost time. Well, I kind of have to. : )

Anyway, I'm so thankful to the girls that come to my Stamp Camps because it makes me Stamp! We'll be making 3 projects this Friday and since I didn't stamp for over a week (gasp!) I thought I'd post the gift card holder I prepared. I wanted to make it more masculine since a lot of times it's the men that we don't know what to get. I used Basic Grey CS and ink along with Craft white for the Bold Snowflakes jumbo wheel. The Let it Snow stamp came from Glad Tidings. The folded middle section is punched with the word window punch and then part of the 3/4" circle for the gift card to slide into. The belly band is about 8" of white CS sponged and folded over the holder, with Pomegranate double stitched ribbon. Fast and easy!

Hopefully nothing else will stop the stamping since I've got lots to make for Christmas and I can share again with you soon. Take care!
