Isn't this the cutest? I saw Camria Turnbow make a tab like these for rolled up movie money and I thought there has to be other things that would fit. I happen to have halloween pencils handy so I used the Tab Punch with Only Orange and sponged it with black then stamped the bats from Halloween Backgrounds on it. I just closed the rounded ends with a Library Clip and tucked in a piece of black gingham ribbon in the little slot they have. What a great way to dress up little gifts!
Here are the invitations I made for my daughter's Princess Tea Party. Luckily it's a small party so I didn't have to spend forever on them. I adjusted a teapot image I found online and just didn't cut the left end completely out so it would fold. I sponged the edges in Pretty in Pink and stamped the little flowers from Petite Patterns all over. I found princess stickers at the $ store that fit in the scallop punch to finish it off. This particular sticker was bigger but I just punched it out with the 1" circle punch. Now I just have to make one more for her scrapbook.

Here's a card I made for one of my new Pen Pals. She's a fellow stamper who thought it would be nice to receive cards as well as make them. What a great idea - I'd like that too, so I joined up.
This is a card I made for "Blog Candy for a Cause". I know how precious my children are to me and know how it feels when the unexpected happens, so I wanted to contribute. You can click on the link to find out more and contribute too. I started thinking of elegant roses or something along those lines and then it started looking like a sympathy card so I went in a totally different direction. I used the Loads of Love stamp set with K& Co. paper I picked up a while ago. The colors in it matched SU!'s Old Olive, Rose Red, and Night of Navy perfectly. My marker job actually looks better in real life, but I might go over it again with the blender pen anyway. The other marker colors I used were Going Grey and Bordering Blue. Finished it off with Rose grograin ribbon. Hope it lifts their spirits at least a little.
First one is a sample of "cracked glass" using Crystal Effects. You can also do this with the thick embossing powder, but I think I told you I was working on CE samples and it's just another way of using what you have kind of a thing. The key is to keep it in the freezer for a while and crack it as soon as you take it out, otherwise it won't be hard anymore. I stamped the rose from Wild Rose in Bravo Burgundy, stamped off once, then directly on vanilla CS. Covered entire thing in CE, waited a few hours for it to dry, then put it in the freezer. That was layered on Choc. Chip , layered on Bravo Burgundy with Choc. Chip ribbon and all on Vanilla CS with Mother's Day stamped in Bravo Burgundy from All Holidays.
Last, we have a simple card from my World Card Making Day Event. I had cards that could be made in less than 5 minutes. OOh - quick thought - maybe I should submit them to Take Ten magazine. What do you think? Here I used Really Rust, Old Olive and White CS. I markered Really Rust and Old Olive inks on the flower and wheeled Boho Friend in Craft White ink. Sentiment finishes it in Old Olive.
I'm planning on working on more things once my head "clears up", including a tutorial, so check back in a day or 2 for that. Have a great day!
Still a while to go for snow, but I thought I'd show some stuff I'm working on. I'm making samples using Crystal Effects for my upline's meeting and icicles came to mind right away. It's the perfect touch for The Snowflake Spot set. I just squeezed a bunch out at the top of the white layer, then squiggled some down in a random pattern. Since this was pretty thick I had a little while to sprinkle some dazzling diamonds on it before it dried. It's much prettier IRL. Ink and CS are Soft Sky as well as double stitched Soft Sky Ribbon.
Saturday morning the kids woke up to a big surpise - 2 puppies! They are a Black Lab/Blue Heeler (sp?) mix. Cute and playful little things. The kids are thrilled. Matthew named his Jake and Katie named hers Jasper. So now I really have to keep my little "craft room" door closed all the time. I'll have some cards to post a little later, but in the meantime, if you have any doggie tips, I'd love to hear them. Have a great day!
