A different kind of chocolate cake!

So here is the final "candy cake" card from last stamp camp. The middle three pieces are chocolates! This was one of the ideas from convention. Isn't adorable? I used the new Cheerful Treat designer paper to wrap the "cake" and Concord Crush with the Large Oval and Lace punches for the stand. The Triple Blossom Punch made the pink flower AND candle flames. The new Ruffled Ribbon in Wisteria makes fun accents! Now that's a special birthday card!

I'm waiting for one last thing that is coming in my next order to finish my candy cake card to show you as a sample for my August Stamp Camp, but if you're on my email list you already have the idea. Mine just isn't as "pink". But I can show you this adorable idea I got from Heather Klump for the cuckoo clock in Easy Events stamp set. I love it! And don't worry - I have another version that's just as cute for those who don't want to cut out the clock. : ) Stamp Camp is on 8/26, RSVP by 21st.

Chocolate Purses & Swap

Thank you to everyone that came out to my Open House! If you couldn't make it, here is a little hint at what you missed:

1) Along with all the other swaps I had out on display, here is the one I made for a "Shoebox Swap" I participated in. I used 2 new In Colors, Pool Party & Wisteria Wonder, and the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.

2) Everyone got a Chocolate Purse Favor. Aren't these cute? So easy, too. Here's how to make them: One piece of designer paper 1 1/4 X 4 1/2" layered on top of one piece of designer paper 1 1/2 X 4 1/2". Score at 1 3/16, 2 3/16, 3 1/2, 3 3/4". Fold score lines and place a chocolate nugget in the one inch section. Glue ends of a piece of ribbon about 4 1/2" long in the smallest section and glue down front flap. Add a punched flower to the front and you're done!

3) Quick Make N Take using Summer Mini stamp, Sail Away. Love this image, don't want to see it go when the Summer Mini ends! Can you guess how we kept the sails so white?

Here are a few more pics from convention. The chalkboard stand and clips is a room mate gift from Monica - I still have to take pics of my other gifts to share. Then it's me and Cindy at a Shoebox swap where we made 24 cards and then picked up 25 already made for us. Very nice cards! I literally arrived at the hotel, met my room mates, put my stuff down and then headed out for this. So tired after this, but totally worth it!

On Wed. night I joined my roomies for another meeting and made some really cool projects like the stand up scrapbook (spread out here) and a digital hybrid page designed by Cindy. (Look at the difference in just a few changes in the second one!)

Swapping and sharing continued through the entire time - here's us in the room with a few more friends sharing ideas. Thanks Michele - didn't even know you took this one!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2011

Wow - I was able to attend Stampin' Up!'s Convention in Salt Lake City this year and had a blast! I was a little nervous to fly out there by myself, but I am so glad I did. I roomed with 3 great girls that I met online through our demo-only "Stampin' Connection" and it worked out beautifully. Here's the four of us at the home office right before our tour.

We had tons of fun. The convention was filled with lots of inspiration and information. This year's theme was GROW. The center stage for all of our main gatherings was beautiful and it kept changing colors.

There's so much I want to share with you that I'm planning an Open House for you to come and see all my gifts, swaps, make n takes, etc.! So look for that soon. I'll also try to post more pictures on here as I figure out my son's laptop. I got home and turned on my desktop to a bunch of pop up windows saying it was hacked and had several viruses. Why do people do that???? Anyway, the cost to fix it is making me think about getting a new one. I'm not very computer savvy so if anyone has advice on a reasonable laptop, I'd love the input!

Hello and Happy Spring! So glad to say goodbye to winter and looking forward to warmer temps! With that on my mind I came up with this card for my swap for my Remarkable Stamp meeting this past Saturday. I used the fabulous Lattice die as well as lots of punches like the Bird punch, Dotted Ribbon Scallop punch and the Boho blossoms punch for the flowers. Can you guess what stamp I used for the foliage behind the lattice?

Baltimore Regional

Here's a bunch of RemARKable Stampers at the Baltimore Regional. We had a blast. I got a lot of great swap cards and took over 100 pictures of the sample boards. I love the "Workshop Wows" and other projects that Stampin' Up! demonstrated for us. They also gave us a stamp set and five make n take projects for it. What a fun day! I enjoyed it so much I'm planning on bringing a mini version of it to you, so if you're near Plymouth Meeting, PA, I'd love to have you join me. I would also love to have you join me at these type of events. RemARKable Holiday Madness Blog Tour - # 7

Wow, last day of the tour already. I hope you've enjoyed seeing all the wonderful holiday ideas. I know I got a few more ideas to try.

Did you know Stampin' Up! has a jewlery line? It's called Simply Adorned. We have a bracelet and two different lengths of chains, as well as four different sizes of charms. There are even new baubles in the Holiday Mini that hook on to the chains. All of the charms are locket style to hold whatever you'd like - pictures, dried flowers, and best of all - stamped images! This means you can stamp initials or anything else you'd like. You can make inserts for every holiday or even every day. I've seen people weave ribbon through the chain to get a different look too. Here I just tied a little bow for an extra touch. These make wonderful gifts and are a great way to wear some art.

I'm thinking I'll probably wear mine at the Baltimore Regional, where I'm sure to gets tons more ideas to share with you, so I hope you'll come back and visit me often. Enjoy!

RemARKable Holiday Madness Blog Tour # 6

Hello! I have another card for you today. This one uses some of my favorite things - stamps that coordinate with punches and embossing folders. Stamp set is Perfect Punches and I markered the stamp so I could get both real red and old olive on it. It coordinates with the 1 3/4" scallop punch and then we have an even bigger scallop punch - 2 3/8! The embossing folder is Petals a Plenty and I simply used the thin side of my stampin write marker in real red to make the dots in the center. Old olive ribbon wraps it up!

Welcome back to the tour. There are some awesome ideas here so make sure you check them all out.
Today's project is a list pad. We made a different version of these at my last stamp camp where we actually stamped images on the front. This time I used the Deck the Halls Designer Paper and it was so pretty I just couldn't cover it up. I layered the piece on always Artichoke and then the holder is Cherry Cobbler. The ribbon is the new seam binding in the Holiday Mini and it's so soft and flexible! I was going to use DSP on the pen holder but then decided to to put it inside the pen. Inside is half of a Jr. legal pad that Staples cut for me. These are great for lists for the grocery store, daily to do's, countdown to Christmas chores, wish lists, teacher gifts, etc. etc...

Have you seen My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up! ? At first I wasn't interested in it, but then I kept seeing some really neat things people were using it for. If you're like me (and most people these days) and have your camera card full of pictures or have a bunch saved on your computer and haven't gotten them all printed yet, or simply don't have much time, My Digital Studio would be wonderful for you. It's incredibly easy and has options for those who don't want to put much "thinking" into it to the totally customizable computer savvy techie. I whipped up a few samples to show you:

This first card is actually one that is already designed and I did Nothing - just selected it!

This one I selected a premade layout and inserted a picture, selected the background paper, punch, and "stamp". Oh - did you notice the brads on the ends of the punch? Put them there too. Done in about 3 minutes.

For the third one, I started with a blank card and added all of my elements. Even starting from scratch it didn't take very long. Scrapbooking is tons faster with this.You can print your projects, save them to a disk and email them. You can choose sizes, embellishments, borders, stamps... There really is a lot you can do with this program, and there's no mess to clean up afterwards : ). You can even add music and make a slide show, add hyperlinks and much more. It's definitely worth checking out!!

Hello! The third idea I have for you on this tour is made with aluminum sheets (hardware store), the Snowflake #2 die with the Big Shot, a votive candle, and our new Stampin' Glitter in Silver Glass from the Holiday Mini. I cut 2 snowflakes out of the aluminum and bent one around a little votive candle so it would fit in the center. Adhere the snowflakes together with glue dots. What really makes this special is the chunky glitter around the outside of the votive - it's not like any other glitter I've seen. I love it! Makes quite a difference, don't you think? Anyway, this would make a nice little gift or look fabulous on your table. Let me know what you think - I love hearing your comments!

RemARKable Holiday Madness Blog Tour - Day 2

Welcome back to the tour! Thank you for visiting me - I hope you're enjoying all the great ideas we have to share. Today I have an ornament that's fun to make. It takes 12 quarter inch strips of paper, preferrably with different sides, six inches long. I used the Deck the Halls designer paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog - love this paper!

This would be great as a package topper as well and the size can be adjusted. Want to know how to make it? Of course you do - here goes:

Weave 6 strips and glue down as shown and repeat with remaining 6 strips. Adhere the tips of the top left and left top around the back to make a loop. Repeat on other sides. Once you have two of the lower right image you'll rotate one and put them together back to back - or front to back, whatever way you prefer. Weave straight ends through and glue to connect. Trim off anything that sticks out. You're done! I did add a little extra to mine, though. I sprayed it all over with Frost White Shimer Paint mixed with alcohol. Smooch spritz would look great too. Pretty!

I'm going to start with a card. I love to send and recieve Christmas cards. Sometimes it's the only time of the year I hear from people - maybe even get a photo, so I always look forward to that. Here's one I did with the Christmas Postcard stamp in the Holiday Mini. I colored it in with a blender pen and the following inks: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, and Garden Green. It's layered on a Top Note Die cut in Cherry Cobbler and then layered on an embossed Always Artichoke base (Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder). This is a great card for mass producing and mailing, since it is "flat". I love these colors together and most of you know I love my Big Shot, so I'm happy to die cut and emboss. Hope you like it too!

I hope everyone had a great summer. I did, but with the kids undertoe 24/7, it didn't give me a lot of time to do my own thing and stamp. I'm getting back in the swing and saw a card I just had to CASE on the demo website by Doris Denman. I had just come up with 4 cards with the Friends Never Fade set for my class Friday night and then I saw this great idea with a great color combo (from the awesome new Color Coach!).

As usual, it looks better in person, but isn't it striking? The colors are Concord Crush, Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz. The flower is embossed and cut out on shimmer paper and colored with the blender pen , then attached on top of the stamped image. The cute little flowers under the image are from the Hostess Set Because I Care. So pretty!

Owl Punch and New Ribbon!

Hello! Sorry it's been a while, life is busy! I wanted to share this card with you since I really like how it turned out. It uses a lot of new items - new Owl Punch (a must have!), Cherry Cobbler card stock, Love Letter DSP (vest), Crochet Trim and 1/8" taffeta ribbon. Isn't it cute? Actually the only stamping on it is the hello that I just markered from the hello baby stamp in Teeny Tiny Wishes. Enjoy!

Elements of Style in a Barrel

I saw this idea from Carole'Ann S. (I believe) and loved it. Now, it does involve some cutting, but isn't worth it? Such a totally different look for this set. Barrel is made from a bunch of window word punches and flowers are colored in and placed on top of Inspired by Nature grass. So glad both sets are going to be in the new catalog!

Happy unofficial start of summer! (School's Out!)

This is a banner I made my daughter's teacher for her baby shower at school. It's all Stampin Up! The Big shot came in super handy for this one - they're all dies and held together with jumbo brads. (It said Welcome Baby)This is a card I really like from my last stamp camp. The Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in the Summer Mini is fabulous! So is the $8.95 Happy Grad stamp - you could also just marker up the Happy Graduation and stamp the rest inside - which is what Kelly did and it looked great too! The star punches make it pop.

The following cards all use the new Elements of Style stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalog. We made the first two at stamp camp last Friday and the third is my simplied version of a card by Ann Schach. The bottom didn't photograph so well because I sprayed shimmer mist all over the inside panel. It's all shimmery and gorgeous in real life! It also uses the new Stampin' Up! Square Lattice embossing folder - love it!

This was one of my favorite projects from my stamping weekend. Did you know Stampin' Up! carries Chalboard Vinyl? and you can cut through your Bigshot? Ohhh, the possibilities! I added some Sweet Pea DSP, Fluerettes (that I dyed with ink), and Designer Buttons.

I also covered the back with some gorgeous DSP from Nouveau Chic and black ribon.

Ornament Punch Ideas Display

Hi! I had a great time away last weekend stamping and chatting and creating lots of fun things. I'll post some of those things later, but for now, here are are few more of the samples I made with Stampin' Up!'s Ornament Punch. It can be used for so much!
First, who doesn't love those guys in brown delivering packages? (the ornament is his face!)
Next is a fabulous vase - which showed up super shimmery here since I used the shimmer Paint on it. Then we have a cookie jar! Mmm, chocolate chips! And last one for now, and Easter bunny! There are lots of animals that you can do, but this seemed fitting for now. Have a wonderful Easter everyone!

Ornament Punch Fish

This is one of my display ideas for my team meeting today. I came up with 8 different cards, a 12 X 12 scrapbook page and a 3D item all using the ornament punch in some way. I'll share more later, as I'm sure I will gettting lots and lots of fabulous ideas there.
Oh no! There's no stamping on this one! Lots of punches though: Ornament punch, scalloped oval punch, half inch circle punch, 1/4 inch circle punch, Swirly sizzlet die.

Tote-ally Tess

Here's a quick card I made with the adorable Tess in the Mini Catalog. I'm really hoping she makes it to the big catalog as I've just discovered how fun this set can be! Lots of great stamping stamps in there too! Unfortuantely I forgot to take a picture of a thank you card I sent out that had almost every stamp in the set on it, so I'll have to make another. Tess is colored in with markers and her pants are paper pieced. Fun!

RemARKable Going Green Blog Tour - Post 3

Welcome back! Here's my third project idea following the "going green" theme. You know those tissue boxes, cereal boxes, etc. that you usually toss or cut for the Box Tops? Not only are they recyclable but they are reusable! You could simply cover them with designer series paper for a gift box or use parts of them. They make a great backing for anything that needs a little more strength. The tissue box I used is thin enough to use punches with. The Big Shot would cut through them easily as well, but here's a super quick and easy craft that would be even be great for a party favor or activity.

Punch a smaller hole ( I used Stampin' Up!'s half inch circle punch) in a little ways from the edge first. Then, take a larger punch ( I used Stampin' Up!'s 1 1/4" circle punch) and punch so that you have a thin edge from the first circle, but not so thin that it could rip. Repeat this process with Designer Series Paper, using the cardboard one as a template. Decorate if desired. ( I sponged the edges) Now you could either coat with Crystal Effects or heat emboss with clear embossing powder to seal. Place a 5mm jump ring through the top and an earring hoop through that. Voila! Designer Paper Earrings!

RemARKable Going Green Blog Tour - Post 2

Welcome back! I hope you are enjoying all the great ideas for recycling, repurposing and reusing items using Stampin' Up! products. Today I'm using something everyone with kids has - worn out jeans!
We'll take these and make them into this!

Isn't this great? Those ripped jeans are now an adorable pin! I ran the material through the Big Shot with Stampin' Up! Flower Folds Die. You can use so many different materials through your Big Shot - it's amazing! I layered three sizes of the light and dark denim and held them together with a 5/8" jumbo brad. You can use your Crop a Dile to punch holes to make this a breeze. Glue on your pin back and you're done. Now, I also happen to have some tulle from years ago and ran that through the Big Shot too to see what that would look like.

What do you think? Adds a little something, huh? Don't stop at jeans, either. How about those cute dresses, skirts, tops, etc. that got a stain or rip? Just avoid that area and you can create something fun! Some of those items might even have a great button you could use for the middle too. Now onto the next "Green" idea...

RemARKable Going Green Blog Tour - Post 1

Welcome to the going Green Blog Tour!! Here's my first idea - recylcing those twist off bottlecaps!

Transform those bottlecaps by washing them out and adding some designer paper and embellishments. Here you can see I made inital ones. M for my son, who wanted it to be a magnet for his school locker, and K for my daughter, who wanted it as a necklace. For both of these I punched out designer paper with a 1" circle punch and then cranked out the intials on my Big Shot with the Billboard Die. I wanted them a little higher up inside so I punched a few more circles out of scraps to glue behind my design. For the M - simply add a magnet on the back with a strong adhesive. For the K, take your Crafter's Tool Kit and hammer a hole along the rim sort of close to the edge with the paper piercer - or you could use a nail. This is fairly easy to do as the metal isn't that hard. Then I put a 6mm jump ring through that hole to make it a charm. Use Crystal Effects to glue your pieces in and add a thick layer of it on top to seal everything in. Trash to treasure!

Lattice Butterflies

This is a card I actually made to enter a swap making contest for Sherrill Graff at Late Night Stampers. However, it came back to me in the mail postage due a few cents!!! This is the second time in the last few weeks I've taken things to the PO and had their machine determine postage and then I get it back. Grrrrrrr. Since it is too late to mail it back to her in time, I'm posting it here so she as well as all of you can see it. Is really is a lot prettier in person. Anyway, I was so proud I came up with this myself. I used Stampin' Up! exclusive dies, Lattice and Beautiful Wings embosslit die. Can you guess what my greenery behind the lattice is?

I sponged as well as sanded for some cool texture effects. It's one of those cards that could have a number of sentiments on it. Hope you like it!

Quilted Rag Bag

I am so excited!!! I've seen lots of demos make these bags and I actually made one myself! At first I thought maybe I'd just buy one but I kept reading how easy they were so I tried it. Now, you have to know that I DO NOT sew - at all. And if you get to check out my bag in person I'm sure you'll see lots of mistakes, but I did it! It's good enough that my mom wants me to make one for her. I followed Angie Juda's directions and used a $19 tiny sewing machine that was in the attic from about 15 years ago - not a "good" one. It's only straight lines, which is why I decided to try it. I cut the material with the Big Shot and the Stampin' Up! Scallop Square Die. It cuts 8 layers at a time! Did you notice my button closure? I had a clear button in my stash, but added the filligree brad on top of it. I love those brads. Just sew on your button, then put the prongs of the brad through the holes and it holds wonderfully. I ran it through the washer and dryer to get the snipped scalloped edges to fray a bit. Oh - I also made the handles longer. I love that you can choose the colors, size, etc. and make it whatever way you want it. What do you think? If I can make one, you can too!

I love the new punches from Stampin' Up! This card features three of them, the extra large Two-step Bird, Scallop Trim Border (that you can get Free!) and the Full Heart. The background was done with another thing I love - embossing folders for the Big Shot! You can't really tell here but I also used Shimmer Paint on the birds so they are all shimmery in real life - so pretty! This was made for an anniversary card but would also work well for Valentine's day.

Well, this was the perfect day to try out My Digital Studio since we're snowed in. We've got over a foot of snow and the kids couldn't wait to play in it. I only took a few pictures so far (until things are shoveled and cleared for me to move around), but look what I did. This is a first. I took pictures and made a scrapbook page with them the same day!! Actually, this page only took me about 10 minutes!!! Seriously. And this is only the second thing I ever tried with it. It's very user friendly. I'm not giving up my precious paper and fun embellishments, but MDS definately has it's advantages. Did you know you can create slide shows with music and burn to a disc to share? It has lots of possibilites. If you're interested in learning more about My Digital Studio, just let me know. This was fun!

Vintage Vogue

I love this new stamp set, Vintage Vogue, in the new Ocassions Mini. At first I didn't order it, but then I got a chance to use it and see such beautiful work done with it. It's now one of my favorites. I think it might have been the big "F" that turned me off, but I'm over it now. We'll be using this set at my next stamp camp and here is another sample I made with it. Love the color combo of Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive too. The lighter flowers are just stamped off one or two times. The rhinestone brads are perfect for the flower center.

Isn't this little guy cute? He's from Love Bandit on page 16 of the Occasions Mini. The tree was colored with markers to get the different colors and the background is the Woodgrain stamp and some sponging. Easy peasy!

Felt Flowers

As soon as I saw this idea (I believe from Lynn Pratt), I wanted to try it. It's felt from a craft store cut out of the Circles #2 die in the Bigshot. While I'm not a sewer, I was able to make a few stitches in a pinched end of each circle and layered them on top of each other. I added a freehanded leaf backing and a half pearl from the Pretties Kit. Makes a great pin, don't you think? There's so much to do with the Bigshot - I highly recommend it!! And right now you can get 2 free Sale A Bration sets when you order it as well as a free sizzlet from me or a free Bigshot class. There's also a quilted pocketbook idea made with one of our dies floating around that I'd love to make, but that means more sewing than a few stitches, so I may need help for that one. Anyone want to help me sew? : )

That's Free products for every $50 you spend! Don't worry - there will be links on here soon to check it all out. In the meantime, here's a card I made with an upcoming stamp, Fine Flourish. It reminded me of those books of designs you color in to make your own patterns when I was little, so I decided to color it in with markers. I think this would also look pretty cool stamped on vellum and colored from behind to make a stained glass kind of image, but would be pretty even by itself. Here's to a creative 2010!

I've got a few things to show you from my weekend away. Here are 2 projects I made. First is a polar bear box. Isn't he cute? He's in the Winter Mini and will be gone Jan. 4th! What you can't tell is that I embossed him in white on bashful blue but I can't get a good picture of it. The box is made from 4 petal cards attached together and a little window made with a circle punch and acetate. The snowflakes are from Serene Snowflake, also retiring Jan. 4!

The second is a pin and an embellishment for my daughter's headband. They're made from the Flower Folds die. Pin is felt and other is some extra Christmas material I had leftover. Just layer them and adhere with a button. Easy and adorable! Can you tell I Love the Bigshot? So much you can do.

Quilted Christmas

I'm one of those wacky people who can't just make one Christmas card to send to everyone. I guess I get bored and need to do something different, and there are so many ideas I want to try. So, here is one of my favorites. I used Christmas Cocoa DSP punched into squares and placed them on the top note die. Then I cut around the "stitching" marks and mounted it onto a red top note die. That got popped up on dimensionals onto a Petals a Plenty embossed white base. Now, can you guess what I mounted the saying from Christmas Punch onto? Hint: It's 2 different shapes.
I have lots of great new stuff to share from my wonderful weekend of stamping, so I'll try and find time to post them soon. Enjoy!

Scrappin' Wrappin'

Use your beautiful Designer Paper for more than just scrapbooks and cards! One piece was enough to cover this cylinder and make a bow for the top. This DSP is from Christmas Jingle and the little tag is made from Level 2 Hostess set Christmas Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch and Magnetic Movers and Shapers. I followed these directions to make the bow. It's pretty easy and a great way to use up scraps. Makes a great presentation.

I'll be away for a few days at my upline's RAD weekend! Can't wait to get crafty with creative friends and be spoiled by Jan. She preordered all the new products coming up for us to play with! So, I should have lots to show you when I return. Have a great weekend!

Give Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving! I loved the card Dawn Olchefske did with the Autumn Meadows DSP and had to try it. I think she called it the Herringbone technique. It looks like inlaid wood almost - which I love. It's easy - no real measurements, although my strips are somewhere around 1/4". Lay down one strip diagonally and then make "v"'s with the others. So, this is my Thanksgiving card to share. Thank you to all that visit my blog, stamp with me, order with me and are my friends. I'm very grateful.

Coach's cards

Things have been so busy around here lately, I will be glad to hand in these cards. It means the end of practices and games for a while. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the kids' sports, but a break from all the running around will be nice. So here's what I came up with for the soccer coaches. Our colors were green and black and the team name was the Crocodiles. The croc is embossed in black on Glorious Green. The letters are die cut from Billboard Alpha. And the soccer ball was made from cutting 6 black pentagons adhered to a white circle and trimming the hanging parts. I drew a line between the points with the thin side of my black marker. Inside will hold a gift card with the ultra fun Look Here pop-up die. Have a great weekend!

New Technique?

We may have come up with a new technique at my last Stamp Camp! We used the Kind Thoughts small stencil from the Decor Elements line. Since we used Not Quite Navy ink on the blue stencil, it was a little hard to tell which side had ink on it. Well, if you intentionally ink up one side (with sponge or dauber), then turn it over and traditionally stencil, you end up with a cool shadow like this: Isn't that cool looking? Thanks, Karen! This card is just one layer, sponged around the edges. Quick and easy! Think I'll call it Shadow Stenciling - what do you think? Let me know if you try it - I'd love to see what you come up with.

Here's a simple invitation I made for my daughter's birthday party. I used Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Build A Bear stamp set Beary Best Friends and colored it in with ink & a blender pen. Behind this cutie is some Pretty in Pink designer paper from a previous hostess selection. On the base is the balloon from the set and "you're invited" from Hugs & Wishes. Done! We're planning on some Build A Bear crafts for the party so I'll share them with you when we're done.

A Flower for all Seasons & A Giveaway!

I have been wanting to use this little cardinal for a long time now. It's from the set A Flower for All Seasons and has a 3 other cute images. It goes perfectly with the Petals a Plenty embossing folder in the Holiday Mini. I colored it in with Real Red, Close to Cocoa, and Glorious Green markers and punched it out with the larger tag punch. I layered it on green and just cut the corners and punched a hole for the yummy 3/4" Polka Dot Ribbon. Sentiment is from Christmas Greetings.

Happy World Card Making Day! I made my card a little early seeing as it's my anniversary as well and we happen to have company from out of state coming. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze some stamping time in, we'll see. Anyway, this is from my new favorite stamp, Medallion. Versamark on Kraft CS and clear embossed. Center is Soft Suede and Versamark clear embossed on Vanilla with a Kraft Corduroy Brad. Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon "bow" at bottom. It is so much prettier in real life! Think hubby will like it? Pillow Box Bucket and a Special

Hello! Wanted to share a really neat project I made with a Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial. It's a Pillow Box Bucket. I love when you can find different uses for things. The Pillow Box Die is cut out 3 times and assembled (with a little trimming) to make this:

I used Real Red Cardstock and the new, super yummy Christmas Cocoa Sepcialty DSP from the Holiday Mini. This paper is flocked! The sentiment is from a Level 2 Hostess set, Chistmas Punch. I loved Beate's idea of stamping off the damask image from Friends 24/7 for a background. I also took Jan Tink's idea of crimping a scallop border and wrapping it around the oval to fit. I omitted the handle - I thought it looked a little nicer this way. Can't wait to fill it with candy and put out around the holidays.

I volunteered to help out with the Sunshine Committee for my daughter's school and somehow I wound up being the committee. I make cards and get gifts for the special occassions that occur during the year. Here are two I did recently:
The colors look a little off here, but are nice IRL.
The fun part inside is the Look Here Pop up die. It's so easy and a big "wow". The first card uses the new Pendant Park set and Teeny Tiny Wishes and the second uses Upsy Daisy and a retired SAB set, Congrats.

I've got more to share but it has been super hectic going back to school, back to sports, back to work, etc. We're getting things sorted out, so bear with me. I'm really excited about some upcoming classes and will share them soon!

Magical Marquee Card

Wow- this card is so much fun! The fabulous Jan Tink came up with it and even has a video tutorial for it HERE. Hopefully you can tell that the middle of the circle opens up to reveal my little witch. She happens to be retired but any image will do. The designer paper is the new Night & Day Specialty from the Holiday Mini and the stamp inside is a Level 1 Hostess set you can get for free! I think we'll have to make this kind of card for my next stamp camp - I just love it!

Some new goodies arrived today and I couldn't wait to try them out. Look! Isn't she cute? She's made with the New Sizzix dies that will be in the SU! holiday mini catalog that starts Sept. 1. I made her in felt and think I'll be turning her into an iron on for my daughter. The heart and bow are from a sizzlit, which isn't meant to cut more than paper, but it gave a good enough dent to finish trimming them out with scissors. I can't wait to play around and make a whole family of bears - and in different materials too. Paper, magnetic, felt, foam, oooh! wonder if shrinky dink film would work? Ahh, the possibilities!

What a busy summer! Lots going on with SU! as well as being home with the kids. We're headed to the beach for a week, but wanted to leave you with a sample from my last class. I modified it from a card I found surfing the net but can't find the original designer. I love how you can have many different looks with these circles.

My preorder from the upcoming holiday mini should come by the time I get back so I'll have more fun new things to play with and show you then. Hope you are all enjoying the end of the summer season!

ipod Bday

This is the card I made for my son's birthday. He's 9 now so those "cute" cards don't quite cut it anymore. He took over my husband's ipod and had his cousin load a ton of songs on it for him to enjoy this summer. So when I saw Dawn Olchefske's ipod card I knew I had to case it! It was pretty easy, mostly punches and some stretchy cord. I thought this saying went well for the front and continued the Beatles song inside. He got a kick out of it so I'm happy.

I really love my Big Shot and all the great things I can do with it. One of my most favorite things for it is the embossing folders. So quick and such awesome results! This one is the new Elegant Bouquet. I brayered the "flat" side of the folder with Rich Razzleberry and embossed a white card. My flowers stayed white while the rest is that yummy color. It was pretty like that, but I couldn't leave it alone. I got my pastels out and went over the stems. Then I just brushed the edges of the petals with a dauber in the ink. Then I added some glitter to the centers. It was just too much fun! The sentiment and some polka dot ribbon finish it.

I'll be going to the CK Convention in Valley Forge and hope to pick up some fun new ideas. Stay tuned!

Royal Blog Tour!

Welcome!! Thanks for coming along on the Blog Tour! My featured stamp set is Dasher. It's on the last page of the catalog (208) and is only $8.95! All the stamps on this page are under $10, so don't miss it.

The first thing I thought of with Dasher is a wintery scene. I have him embossed in silver here with some snowflakes and a snow mound in Craft white on Night of Navy card stock. The embossed sentiment and snowflakes are from a new Hostess Set, Christmas Punch. I cut out the white oval and the large oval punch in Brushed Silver CS was the perfect layer for it, on top of the pretty organza ribbon.

If you look closely, you'll see my image is slightly different in this one. I inked him up on Vanilla CS with the Soft Suede marker so that I could omit 2 snowflakes that were in the antlers. This way, he doesn't look as wintery. I distressed the edges and sponged in the Soft Suede and layered on the Suede, then Always Artichoke. The Designer paper is from Autumn Traditions, with Soft Suede brayered over it. The white was too stark for me. Now it almost looks like camouflage, don't you think? The last element is the Soft Suede polka dot ribbon, only I used the solid side and manipulated the knot so the dots wouldn't show.

Very Thankful Peacock

In case anyone was left wanting more from the Clean and Simple card, here's one I really like. The set is Very Thankful and can be found on the back cover of the catalog. It's this year's Ronald McDonald House set and $2 from every purchase of this set goes to them. I loved the peacock as soon as I saw it and knew I had to ink him up in blues and greens. I used Brilliant Blue, Glorious Green, and Tempting Turquoise inks and cardstock. He also has a little glitter on those feathers but it's hard to see here. I notched out the corners on the white cs and added silver brads and the eyelet border was punched around BBlue. Do you see the embossed background? It the new Finial Press - love it! I rounded the top corner and sponged around the edges. Organza ribbon finishes it. I'm almost thinking of sending it in to SU! for their WOW file - after I perfect a few details ; ). What do you think?

Clean and Simple

On Splitcoast Stampers they have a "Clean and Simple" section that I enjoy. I love all the layers and different techniques and embellishments that some people have the patience to do, but sometimes less is more and simple is good. Know what I mean? There's a place for it all I guess.

Anyway, I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone lately and use things I don't normally go for. I love SU's Designer papers but there's usually one side of something that I'm not overly thrilled with. Razzleberry Tart has wonderful colors and patterns in it, but the one with a light grid on the pink and orange & yellow flowers is my least favorite. Since I've already used pink I looked at the flower side and came up with this: something clean and simple! I discovered that those little flowers are the same as the trio flower punch. They are popped up with dimensionals with little white punched circles. Thanks is in Pumpkin Pie and the scallop bottom is in Crushed Curry.

Happy Independence Day! I have a fun little project you can do to celebrate and decorate. The kids can do this one too. I've seen this a few places, but my inspiration came from Julia Betton Court. You simply cut 3 different colors of cardstock (or designer paper) about 4 1/2 X 2 and cut lines down, eaving about a half inch at the bottom. Place sticky strip around your pencil and the bottom of your strips and wrap around, each one a little lower. I tied a piece of 1/2" Striped grosgrain ribbon to finish it. Pull or curl the pieces as desired. Fun!

And here's another idea for the New Catalog Blog Tour:

I used Razzle Dazzle, that yummy polka dot ribbon in Rich Razzleberry, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, and Melon Mambo & Razzleberry CS.

Flower image is stamped in Melon Mambo on white, but I kind of streaked some Crushed Curry across it to match the designer paper. The smaller flower is in also in Crushed Curry, punched out and backed with a mambo flower from the 3 flower punch and a pink rhinestone brad is in the center - all popped up with dimensionals.

RemARKable Blog Tour Stop #18

Welcome!! I am so excited for the New Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog! This tour should be giving you a taste of all the great things you can create with our products.

I have two samples for you today - but check back soon, because I have more in store for you!

I love this first card - it uses three of the new In Colors, new Polka Dot Ribbon, Big Shot Daisies Die and a new stamp set! The Base and smallest circle design is in Bermuda Bay. The largest circle design and ribbon is in Rich Razzleberry and the last circle is in Crushed Curry. This would be great for so many occassions. Did you notice how the tails of the ribbon are solid? You can use either side - or both. Nice and cheery, yet not overwhelming. The new set I used is called Circle Circus and has 10 stamps in it. Tons of possbilities.

Next is my first attempt at the Pop Up Three Tier Cake - what do you think? Thanks to Patty Bennet I was able to make this and it was so much fun! The die cuts are in white with three strips of the new Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper to decorate it. I colored my candle with the New In Color Markers in Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. The sentiment is from Crazy for Cupcakes in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the New Modern Label Punch. I added two extra ends in Crushed Curry to help it stand out more. Even my husband said this looked cool!

Sneak Peek - A few things all in one

Even though it's fairly simple, this card has a few things going on. First - 2 of the New In Colors are used - Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. Then there's strip of one of the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSPs. On the left is a stamp that I repeated from the new stamp set Razzle Dazzle as well as a flower from the set - inked with new In Color Markers! It also has a gorgeous larger flower, but I was trying to challenge myself and not go for the obvious. I also challenged myself using that new pink. I'm not a pink person, but it went so well with the razzleberry purplish color - and I love purples! Can you guess the other thing I did here?
See the scallops behind the large oval punch? It's not perfect, but I punched 3 scalloped ovals and placed one above, one below and cut the third in half to peek out each side. Not bad, huh? Let me know what you think. Have a great day!

Wild About You

Well, I was able to participate in a stamping challenge at Late Night Stampers. We were to use a retiring set for 3 different cards. I used Wild About You and even used some retiring paper. I love these little guys and will continue to use them but will miss seeing them in the new catalog. Here are my 3:

Wow - they've done it again! Stampin' Up! continues to come up with cool, new exciting stuff. Color Challenge 20

This card was made for the Late Night Stampers Color challenge #20. We were to use Choc. Chip. Kraft, Ruby Red and Old Olive. For some reason this idea came to mind right away. The background isn't exactly how I imagined it, but close. I just stamped the sentiment and decorative flourish kind of randomly all over and sponged the edges. My colors were added with pastels. Yes, I cut out the flowers and now I remember why I was tempted to get the Fiskars finger exacto knife thingy. The 5/8" ribbon finishes it. Hope you like it!

Bra/Panty Card

Here's a fun card I just had to make for a friend. I got the pattern from Stamp Owl Here. It's really easy and could actually be used for quite a few occassions. You could "support" someone, be "behind" them all the way, you know - that sort of thing ; )

I used Blush Blossom for the base and the Regal Rose Designer Series Paper you can get for free as a level 1 Hostess gift. The white flower is from the Trio Flower punch. Cute and simple!

LNS Challenge

Here's a card I did for a challenge on Late Night Stampers group. You had to CASE a card from the group's "mom", Sherrill, Here. I picked this one because I just love those little flowers and that leaf die. I changed the colors, double up my ribbon, and added a scalloped border. Left out the embossing and rub-on. It was pretty quick except for piecing the scalloped border together. Here are a two ways to this: punch out a bunch of circles and adhere them half way or so to the back, overlapping them as you go; or cut the center of the scallop punch out and cut into sections. Take the sections and "stretch" them around your circle. Oh - and it's easier to to put the adhesive on the circle - not the pieces. Welcome to Tour 4, Stop 10!

Welcome to the Occasions Mini Catalog Tour! There are 16 stops all together that each feature something different from the mini. Don't forget to follow the next link from here and then to all the rest of the stops.

Here we have the Matchbox Bigz XL Die on page 16. It is AWESOME! Not only do you get the top and bottom of an adorable box, you get three styles of labels! I've actually showed some of these on an earlier post, but here are some more.

First is one in Lavender Lace base and white top stamped with Inspired by Nature grass. On top is the smallest of the Beautiful Butterflies die in glitter with a few holes punched out.

Next is one in Riding Hood Red with matching Bella Rose DSP. This time I took the Curly Label Punch and punched out the top with some clear acetate behind it so you could see what's inside. Hey, who took my mints?

Here we have a classic black and white box stamped with Baroque Motifs and wrapped in taffeta ribbon that I dyed black to match. This makes a wonderful way to give a gift, don't you think?

So, what can you use these boxes for? Besides the earrings I've shown, you could fit bracelets, anklets, necklaces or rings in there. They would make great favors for any kind of party (even weddings) with mints, chocolates - lots of kinds of candy. You could also fold money inside. Oh hey, you could put lots of buttons, brads, ribbons and many more embellishments in there too. : )

And last, but not least, for this stop, is for the card makers. Those three labels layer great with some of our punches or even with themselves! Here's a cute, quick card that matches a box above - and a pic of the other label.

Some of the reasons I love this die is that the box requires very little adhesive and all of the pieces can probably be cut with paper from your scrap box! You could get a lot of mileage out of a piece of DSP just using it for the top of your boxes.
